Kindergarten & 1st Grade

Our dedicated elementary teachers have a bachelor’s degree in education and over 20 years of teaching experience.  Cost for this program is $8,500 annually plus a one-time $300 registration fee. Scholarships are available through Step Up for Children for families that qualify.

VPK

The voluntary pre-kindergarten program or VPK is a valuable program offered by the Florida Department of Education that provides 3-hours of free preschool education to children who are 4-years old.  The VPK program follows the public school calendar. Students typically begin enrolling in VPK in April for the upcoming school year.

Children in the VPK program will expand their learning from the preschool program to include targeted instruction in phonics, math, literacy and pre-reading skills.  VPK prepares children for kindergarten, so regular attendance is very important! VPK children are expected to attend school daily.

Our VPK teachers have many years of experience teaching the Florida Standards for VPK.  All VPK teachers have completed additional training on preschool language, math, social skills and the Florida VPK standards.

Preschool

Our preschool program begins with toddlers and continues to 3-year old children.  In this age group, teachers focus on activities that address all of the core developmental areas: language, gross and fine motor skills, and social skills. Cost for this program varies by age group. Scholarships are available through the School Readiness program and Thrive by Five.

After-school

In the after-school program, students are provided with a snack and homework assistance.  We are pleased that nearly all of our after-school students used to attend our preschool and kindergarten.  Parents are clearly happy with their experience in our preschool because they continue to trust us for their older children.    Although we do not provide transportation, there are buses available from all neighboring schools to our program.

Summer Camp

School age children want a place that is FUN!  Over the summer, parents still need to work, so our aim is to be a place where kids want to come.  Each summer we transform a kindergarten classroom into a full-scale game and media room. Another kindergarten classroom becomes a learning zone for science experiments, and reading.

Summer camp includes:

  • weekly field-trips.

  • fun science experiments.

  • game room with classic board games, mini-bowling, giant Jenga, mini-basketball, a Playstation 3 console with games, and much more.

  • arts & crafts.

  • weekly water game days.

  • FIU reading program for children heading into Kindergarten up to 2nd grade.
