Home Learning

While kindergarten and VPK are not in session, students are expected to complete home learning assignments. Parents should check in daily with teachers using Brightwheel messaging. ALL PARENTS PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR PHONE NUMBER IS CORRECT IN BRIGHTWHEEL. TEACHERS WILL BE CONTACTING YOU.

Kindergarten

VPK

  • Teachers sent home a VPK home learning packet for students to work through while VPK is not meeting. If your child completes the packet, you can contact the office and we will provide you with another packet.

Online Resources

We want to make as many tools available to our families as possible. We understand everyone does not have the same access to computers or internet that make it easy to do online learning.

We encourage families who have access to computers or mobile devices to let their child spend up to 30 minutes doing educational activities. These are not required. Below, you will find some useful websites, information for accessing them and also what would be best for VPK or kindergarten students to work on.

Scholastic Learn at Home

Scholastic has designed 3-weeks of ‘adventure learning’ lessons that includes lessons and digital books. These are designed for preschool and kindergarten students. These are excellent resources! There are activities available in Spanish as well for parents who prefer to work in Spanish. There is no login necessary.

Brain Pop Jr.

This fun, interactive website is a good resource for kindergarten students to work on lessons in math, reading, phonics, science, social studies. The lessons include instructional ‘movies’, games and a quiz on the content. HINT: if you hover the mouse over any selection, the site will read the words for your child - important for non-readers (computer only).

This site works best on a computer, but in the app store, download the app called BrainPOP Jr. Movie of the Week
